Inspired by this book which was given to me at Christmas, I decided to try my hand at paper-cutting. With a freshly bought scalpal and newly aquired cutting mat on the table I cut, sheared, scored and pierced the paper, trying, as far as possible to keep the blade a semi-safe distance from my fingers. 

This ancient artform is currently experiencing a bit of a comeback - you can see more beautiful examples of *proper* paper cutting artwork here and here.
