Sometimes something pops onto our radar which makes science fiction an exciting reality - and here is something exciting we discovered this week: A energy efficient house you control with your Xbox Kinect.

Sound interesting? Well, it is. You can wave, point, move, dance, and well, pretty much anything you like, and it will know what you want it to do. 

Well, nearly. 

And if you’re too lazy for that, the 3D camera will register your movements and do the hard work for you: detecting your movements it can, for example, switch the lights on and off along the way making it easy for you to easily manage your home-energy useage in a centralized, intuitive way.

This idea takes things a step further than the PS3, which wants to be the entertainment centre of the home - Kinect can be more of a control centre.
